PhotoHunt - Electric

When I saw this theme for today's photohunt, I immediately thought of the street outside my hotel in Kowloon from my recent visit to Hong Kong. To say that the show out on the street is electric, is an understatement. I wonder if they have power failures there. They just use so much electricity!!!

On a more subdued tone, here is a photo of an outdoor evening mass in my hometown, Samboan. Not too long ago, some 30 years, the town did not have all day electricity and now there is... WOW. :) This would not have happened 30 years ago. I was very pleased to see and attend this mass. And I was glad to be able to steal a moment or two during mass to take photos. :)

Lisa:

You and I had similar thoughts on this week's theme.

On the second photo: you captured the quiet dignity of mass.

Hong Kong sure is in contrast to the mass.

CY:

Ooh, HK night sceneries is the best that I have seen so far. Great shot. Have a nice weekend. CY

Awesome photos and perfect for this theme. Hong Kong scene reminds me of Times Square. And I LOVE the Mass photo. Something very sweet and beautiful about that scene.

Happy weekend!

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Eden, I love both your photos for this week's theme. The contrast of the busy Hong Kong scene and the quiet beauty of the Mass in your home town is so interesting. Very creative take. And I really love the pretty colors in the sky in your second photo.

Have a great day today!

Nice photos!

My Photo Hunters is up. I hope you have time to visit mine! New York Traveler.net

Happy weekend!

sandrac:

Great photos, Eden. I found Hong Kong fascinating.

Lisa, Alice, and Annie, I did like the contrast of the elctric atmosphere of Hong Kong and the subdued one of my hometown.

Kathy, I noticed the sky after I previwed the post before posting. Yea, I like it too.

Cy and Sandra, Hong Kong is indeed fascinating... It was a great 4 day layover on the way home.

Mrs. Mrs. Mecomber and all, Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment.

Fe Frost:

What an awesome shot of the outdoor mass, especially the sky...you did a good job..

Dot, isn't that a good shot with Father Mejia (your cousin, yeah?) front and center.

Both of them are great shots for the theme!

They are both stunning shots, though in different ways. We tend not to realise there are many places where electricity is something recent, and even that other places still don't have it.

bing:

the abundance of light makes a scene so gay and bright but it makes me sad, as i wonder, that still in many parts of the world, electricity is scarce or even none.

Great shots. I love the night time shot of the street. Happy weekend

Great photos, Eden! The two yellow lights on the first photo look like headlights. lol

The Mass photo is really lovely. So spiritual and serene.

Happy Sunday!

Wow-love your contrasting photos. menehune

I was in Hong Kong once many moons ago. Definitely electric both with the lights and the energy. Fun photos for the theme this week. I still haven't had time to catch up on your trip but hope to soon.
