Emergency Alert

I have never seen a real Emergency Alert System come across the TV screen. Yes, I have seen lots of samples of what to do in case of real emergency... but just a few minutes ago a couple of these came across my TV set.

Scary. Warning was for people who are outdoors to take shelter immediately. Severe thunderstorms predicted just south of where I live... and here I am complaining about rain. I hope there won't be severe damage and people are safe.

I've never seen one of those although I know they've been used here during the monsoon season.

Hoping y'all stay safe! It's stormy here in AZ and it will continue for the next three days. Whatever you guys have in CA weather-wise, we get it a day or two later.

Good lord - you Californians have it all - earthquakes, wildfires, muslides, and now this! I hope all is well.

Anne:

I've never seen one either. I remember when I was a kid, we used to have "This is a test of the emergency broadcast system" messages, though.
