March 4th National Day of Action for Public Education. I am not one to participate in rallies and protests but there is always a first time. So today, I went and joined teachers in my district in showing concern for the future of public education.
There were a few from my school site... I counted six out of 30+ staff members! No wonder it looked like a small gathering...
Our fabulous librarian whose job this year was cut to almost half-time! Her job is once again slotted for the chopping block.
Wonder if Jenny will be able to continue to teach French....
Why do we have to fight so hard to educate the future citizens? Does that even make sense that this does not seem like a priority?

Eden,
It is really sad. I am like you, can't believe that education doesn't come first. What kind of future are we planning for?

It makes no sense at all. Good for you to step out and protest (I hope it does some good). Cutting the librarian job just makes me sad.

A show of solidarity is meaningful. I pray for all the teachers and personnel whose jobs are on the line.

Kudos to you for showing your support in such a tangible way! I'm not one for rallies or protests either, but am glad there are those willing to publically speak out when necessary.
