I was in the Philippines for a little over 6 weeks. I probably attended a birthday party each and every week that I was there. It started when Manang Glor had her birthday on December 30th.
Let me introduce to you my " Older sister from another Mother" - Manang Glor! (Manang is the term we use for older sister, root word is the Spanish word, Hermana...)
She has always been so special as she helped take care of us as we were growing up. She lived with my parents for as long as I could remember.
Now, she is a retired teacher and celebrated her birthday with almost her entire family there...She has a fun and supportive family too. Lucky her!
