such a blissful day until...

First day of my break. I read my book, posted on my blog, watched some baseball, and thought about the beach for tomorrow...such a blissful day until I decided to go to Ninja Sushi for dinner. I got in my car, put the key in the ignition, and heard that sound you never want to hear, that rrrr rrrr and nothing else sound. My battery was dead!

But on the bright side, my battery did not die first thing in the morning when I was heading off to work, and even better yet, it did not die after working late and being that last one to leave right as it starts to get dark. I am fortunate to have a grocery store nearby within walking distance. So, instead of sushi, I picked up a few things at the store and whipped up a chicken, zucchini, and tomato dish for dinner.

I am blessed to have such wonderful neighbors who jumped my car and checked to see if it was indeed the alternator or the battery. They also offered me a ride to the store but the walk was just what I needed. Hopefully my car will start in the morning again so I won't have to get it towed to get it to the shop.

Perhaps there will still be beach in tomorrow's plan after a new battery.
