lava flowing into the ocean

I was very fortunate to witness the lava flowing into the ocean on the Big Island in 1986. I am not sure the exact number of times this has happened since Kilauea began to erupt in 1983. The lava is once again flowing into the ocean.

I am home sick today and have no energy to write much. I am posting a link to a video of the lava flowing into the ocean and two photos, each of which are linked to articles on the recent lava flow.

Sandra:

Wow, those are wild photos!!!!

I hope you're feeling better soon, take good care of yourself!

I would love to be over there right now getting to see the new lava flow, but I think I got sick from all the VOG in the air from the volcano so being closer would not be a good thing. I will just have to enjoy the videos on the news. Thanks for the well wishes. I am starting to feel a little better. Good thing I have the weekend to recuperate :-)

Amazing photos! Hope you feel better soon.

Hope you feel better soon - my upcoming trip got cancelled last week. Maybe Alessandro and I will go together again later in the year.

Love the lava pics!
