I stayed late at work today. When I opened my door to leave my classroom, I was greeted with this beautiful rainbow. I went back into my classroom and grabbed my camera (not a great camera but it did the job).
I couldn't decide on just one photo...

Every time I see rainbows, I think of the song, Hawaiian Lullaby. I was in a sign language group many years ago. This was my favorite song that we signed and the only one I still remember how to sign. I found this home video on YouTube of a Hula Halau dancing to the Hawaiian Lullaby. The song is sung by the Brothers Cazimero.

Wow!
That's beautiful!
Double rainbows are the best of all, as they give you double the blessing and double the luck. So, there you are...it was meant to be for you.
I'd say this is a sure sign that your health is going nowhere but up to terrific!
I was driving over the Pali from Honolulu to Kailua one afternoon, and I saw a huge, wide shimmering rainbow ahead of me on the highway. As I drove closer and closer, it dawned on me that I was about to drive somewhere under the rainbow. And that's exactly what happened,...I drove right underneath it. It was spectacular, and I felt like the angels were smiling on me like crazy!
Mahalo for posting this,
Ciao,
Brenda

I'm with Brenda, how lucky to see a double rainbow. I think I've only seen one of those in my life. It's always special to see a single or a double. And what a beautiful locale for a school!

Spectacular! First the double rainbow - then the Borthers C - and the hula - always captivating to watch. Don't these gals make it look sooo easy and I know it's not. Mahalo! M

What beautiful photos -- the rainbows are gorgeous, as is your schoolyard!
And the video is lovely. The perfect remedy for a bitterly cold day in Ottawa.

Brenda, I am very lucky to live here. I see rainbows all the time and most of them are double rainbows. I find it is a driver's hazard, at least for me because I always find myself staring at the rainbow instead of keeping my eyes on the road.
Leslie, it was one of those "wow" moments. The light at that time of the day really made the rainbow stand out.
Hola Kathy!! I have been loving all of your posts! Enjoy the rest of your trip! Glad you liked the rainbows :)
Annie, you will just have to come here someday! I remember the first time I saw a double rainbow. It was in Colorado on a hiking/camping trip when I was 20.
menehune, I tried hula once. Not a pretty sight :)
Sandra, anything to warm you up way up there in Canada.

Those photos are stunning! What beauty.
How cool that you know (knew?) sign language! I took an ASL class and boy it is so hard. I consider myself good with languages but they say signed languages use a different part of the brain... I really wish I could become somewhat conversational one day...

Thanks Chiocciola. My brother is deaf. He was taught the oral method (reading lips/speaking) while growing up but then learned sign language in high school. I took a few classes but never became great at signing. My best years were the three years when I worked with deaf students as a speech therapist. That is when I joined this group to try to learn the language better. I never could fingerspell fast as I am not very coordinated. My brother always preferred me to speak as I signed too slow. I have not used sign much at all the past 10 or so years and probably know only about 50 or so signs. It is very hard to learn unless you are able to practice it.
