Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Think how happy John would be about Obama!!! I sure wish he was still here.

Hi Girasoli, I love the lyrics, melody and meaning behind this song. Nobody sings it better than he did. I think that some of the greatest achievements in the world were and are built from imagination and dreams for a better place. I never get tired of listening . . . . his life was cut way too short.
And I totally agree with Annie (Hi Annie!), he would've been on Team Obama for sure.
Thanks for this awesome post!

Ciao Annie! Great to hear from you! I hadn't thought about what he would think of Obama until you mentioned it.
Thanks maryann. Your comment cracks me up!
Kathy, I feel the same way. Well said!

Great post, Girasoli. 'In my life' is one of my favourite songs.
And I have to admit, I love the Beatles' movies, especially Hard Days' Night. It's fun to see what the Fab Four were like!
I was born a little too late for the British Invasion, but my older brother and sister played all the music so I have great memories of the Beatles and their contemporaries.
I miss John Lennon and George Harrison.

I am a day late but that is beautiful!! He made so much wonderful music - and we would have had even more if he had lived...

Sandra, I was also a little too young (think we are the same age) but my aunt who is 9 years older than me was a huge fan. I spent a lot of time with her and have wonderful memories of listening to her play her 45's of many of their early songs. Remember 45's?? I had to google it to make sure I remembered the name of those single records.
Chiocciola, you are never too late! He was so talented. I wonder how his music would have continued to impact the world if he was still alive.
