I found this cool meme at at bleeding espresso. She found it at Yankee in a New World. I was planning to do two more Sant' Erasmo Festival posts next but decided to briefly interrupt the festival fun to do this 5 things meme (since I had 5 things on my to do list today that I actually did).
Here goes...
1. What are 5 things you were doing ten years ago?
*I started teaching at my current school.
*Planning my first trip to Europe.
*Traveling to France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, & The Netherlands.
*Falling in love with Italy.
*Celebrating my 40th birthday with my mom and dad (a very special birthday since it was my last with my mom before she passed away).
2. What are 5 things on your to do list for today?
*Go to the eye doctor.
*Make a hair cut appointment.
*Go to the bank.
*Refill a prescription.
*Buy a battery for my smoke alarm (realized I need 2 so this will be on my to do list again tomorrow).
3. What are your 5 favorite snacks?
*Strawberries.
*Cheese.
*Good yogurt (European or Greek).
*Gelato.
*Nuts.
4. What would you do if you were a millionaire?
*Quit my job.
*Travel a lot.
*Buy season tickets to the Red Sox.
*Give money to family members and charities.
*Buy a nice place up on the North Shore with room for friends/family to come visit (if I was a rich millionaire the place would be right on the beach).
5. Where are 5 places you have lived?
*Massachusetts – small town where I grew up.
*Massachusetts – college dorm.
*Colorado – college town.
*Washington - near the beach.
*Hawaii - where I am now :)
If you decide to play along, let me know so I can check out your 5 things.

What a great list, Girasoli! A lovely memory of your birthday with your mom, and wonderful plans for spending your fortune!
I'm going to try this meme myself!

"Quit my job" is at the top of my list for Question #4 too. :)
Hope this comment goes through (they haven't been working today).

Cool meme - I love these things! Just one observation though...you only have gelato down ONCE on your list of favourite snacks?!?! lol

I enjoyed reading your 5 meme and thought of giving it a try but got stuck on # 1. In 1999 I returned to Italy after a 21 year absence but other than that nothing noteworthy happened. :(

Sandra, it was a very special birthday. I am ready any time to start the spending :)
Annie, yep I am not one of those who would say I would continue working anyways. I would however try to volunteer some (when I am not traveling or at Red Sox games :)
I could not get in all morning either. Not sure what was up but saw your post so figured you and Kim had it under control.
menehune, I am off to check yours out right after I post this.
Anne, I almost listed gelato twice but then remembered nuts!
Maria, #1 was the hardest for me also. That is why I stretched out my trip to 3 of 5 things that happened.

Girasoli,
Very fun to do. I was surprised at the differences between ten years ago and today. Wow, a lot can change...

Dana, thanks so much for stopping by! It was interesting thinking back to that year and some of the changes that have taken place in the world and in my life. I wonder what will happen in 10 more years! Hopefully all good things for everyone!

Hi Girasoli, I enjoyed reading your meme list. I enjoyed reading about your special birthday celebration with your mom and dad 10 years ago. A very lovely memory.
Quitting my job if I was a millionaire would also be at the top of my list and second do a true Slow Travel trip around the world for a year non stop! :) Great post!

Excellent answers...your to-do list was mighty impressive! I hate doing all of those things so they'd never get done on the same day ;)

Kathy, a year long slow travel trip around the world sounds like a great millionaire wish!
michelle, don't let my to do list fool you. I don't often try to accomplish all of these things in one day. I was just on a roll that day :)
