it's Groundhog Day!!!

Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow once again this morning. That makes 98 times! Although it seems like every year he sees his shadow, there have been 15 times when he has not. There have also been nine unaccounted years with no report. Not sure what happened to him during those years. I do seem to remember at least one time when I was growing up when he did not see his shadow. There is always hope for next year.

I have been away from the internet the past few days. Major internet connection problems most of the day on Saturday. I finally decided to drive over to the main office of my internet provider to get a new modem (hoping that would be the fix) instead of waiting 5 more days for an appointment for someone to come out to figure out what was going on to solve the problem. Yay! The modem was the problem.

Sunday & Monday I was very ill with one of the worst migraines I have had in a long time. It was a very strange migraine, not even sure if it was a migraine or something else as I had pain throughout my entire spine and could barely walk or move my neck. Thankfully, I am feeling much better today. I am now behind in work and I will be very busy watching the Lost tonight!!! Tomorrow night, I have my photography class. It will probably be a few more days before I catch up with everyone.

Happy Tuesday!! Happy Groundhog Day!!

Sorry you haven't been feeling well!

I totally forgot it was Groundhog Day until I saw your post. I must live in a cave. :-D

ohh-interested in hearing about your photography class! Glad you are feeling better - must of been a bit scary. m

Hmmm..I didn't know there were years with no reports.
Ack, sorry about the migraine and the Internet problems.
Have fun today and tomorrow!

amy:

No more migraines or health issues for you, young lady!
Enjoy the photo class!

Shadow or not, I am ready for spring! Hope you are feeling better, and enjoy your photography class!

Thanks everyone :) I am still a little under the weather but definitely better than I was Sunday & Monday. To join you all with more winter, the weather is predicted to be very chilly tonight. Brrrrr!!!

Jill, I only remember because of the movie. It used to be a big thing when I lived on the mainland in the schools but here in Hawaii, it is mentioned and kids usually react with "HUH?"

Candi, me too! I wonder what happened to Phil during those years? Maybe he just slept in??

menehune, amy, & Palma, I do hope to post something about my class if I ever find the time. I am finally getting more serious about buying a DSLR after only one class so I guess that says something about the class. I really like my teacher. My first photo I had to turn in will be evaluated tomorrow night. I really do like being the teacher more than the student :)

sandrac:

I hope you're feeling better by now, Girasoli -- that sounds really unpleasant and more than just a migraine. Maybe a strange flu bug of some sort? Those can really target the sensitive parts of our bodies (I always get bad neck and knee pain when I get the flu!)

I'm so glad to hear that you're enjoying your photography class AND that you have a great teacher -- as you know, the teacher can make an enormous difference to a student!!!

Anne:

I'm with Sandra, that does sound like more than a migraine, perhaps a virus of some sort. I know those can cause very stiff, sore neck and shoulders. Glad to know you are feeling better though!

As for Groundhog Day - boo to those critters seeing their shadow!! Our Shubenacadie Sam saw his too. I am starting to get quite tired of winter, have to say. Have been dreaming of a holiday in the sun (alas, twill not make it past the dream stage this year, but perhaps next year!)

sandra, I have been sluggish all week but am definitely feeling much better than I felt Sunday & Monday. I finally got a little energy back today. It probably was some sort of weird virus, although I never got a fever.

anne, yes I do agree with you and Sandra - definitely a weird virus but can't figure out what it was. As long as it is gone though, I guess it doesn't really matter. I say BOO also to all the groundhogs and other critters predicting a long winter. We have had a very mild winter here though - hardly any rain and only a couple of cold nights. I read Jerry commenting that you have not had much snow in Canada either this winter (or at least there has not been much where he lives) although it is still cold up north. I know what you mean about dreaming about a trip. I am in the same boat this summer - dreaming instead of going.
