butch, sundance, & scarface

I was very surprised to come across this video storefront window featuring my favorite movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, while exploring Pisa for the day last summer.

A couple of days later, I noticed another storefront window featuring the same movie, this time in Lucca. Surprising to see this movie featured in two towns in Italy. Would love to have this poster hanging in my house!

A week later, I noticed this picture of Al Pacino in Scarface as I peeked inside the doorway of a bar in Bologna . I couldn't resist taking a quick photo.

American movies about bad guys (although I still have a difficult time thinking of Robert Redford and Paul Newman as bad guys) seem to be very popular in Italy.

*One of the reasons I originally did not sign up to participate in March Madness this year was the difficulty keeping up with commenting on everyone's blogs. This next week is going to be a pretty busy week for me. I will continue to try to check out everyone's posts but will probably not have time to leave many comments. Will try to catch up some the following week when I will be on Spring Break.

Interesting. These are good movies no doubt.

sandrac:

Wow, how curious! Good eye for catching these, Girasoli.

Hope work isn't too hectic for you in the coming week, talk about March madness!

Very cool. What's up with the money taped to the bottom of the second one? I love that movie too - used to own the soundtrack (on vinyl!).

I'm sure you are counting down the days to Spring Break!

Anne:

I too would LOVE to have that second poster...young Redford and Newman *sigh* :)

No worries at all on the comments - I have the same struggle, so I won't be at all offended if you only have time to leave sporadic comments. I've had to cut down on responding to comments as well, to some extent. Used to try to reply to everyone individually, but with the daily blogging, I find I have to let a few comments pile up and respond to all at once. I am guessing we are all in the same boat! Glad you are "in" on the March Madness :)

Candi, I can watch Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid over and over again. Not so with Scarface though. Good movie, but once was enough.

sandra, it is pretty tough to miss a photo of Paul Newman and Robert Redford :) The last few days before my break and my trip were pretty crazy. I am glad to have this week off to recover. The last quarter of the year is always the craziest.

Annie, I wondered the same thing about the money. Strange! Cool that you had the soundtrack on vinyl. I have the DVD and would love to get the soundtrack. I am always counting the days until each break or vacation :)

Anne :)
