A day late... I am not sure if this plant is really hard to find but I have never seen it before and I have not been able to find its name yet...

Looks interesting! The one time I found an interesting (in may case, flower) plant, I asked the Kauai botanical gardens to id it for me. Turned out to be an invasive variety brought in from a foreign country:o(. This plant has unusual markings.
