Friday, June 10th:
The train ride from Venice to Padova was short and went by quickly. When we arrived, Sandra went to the infomation area to get a map and I found the train bathroom, always a fun visit. Not only did I get to see a guy flip out at a high school age kid trying to sneak in (it was one of those pay turnstile bathrooms) but I also witnessed a woman dyeing her hair black at the sink of the bathroom. The Bourne Identity immediately came to mind.
We spent about an hour walking around Padova. It took me a few minutes to adjust to all the cars after being in Venice for a few days. I took this photo not far from the train station.
Lock at Porte Contarine, in the old town centre.
We wandered into this building. Not sure if it was a museum of some kind or an office building.

There was a big vote happening in Italy. I loved watching this guy with the Sì hat.
Photo taken by the museum where we went to pick up our tickets for our visit to the Capella degli Scrovegni.
The place to pick up the tickets.
Sandra booked us a double turn ticket, which meant that we got to spend twice as long inside the magnificent Capella degli Scrovegni. Even better yet, we were the only two with a double ticket and so we had the entire chapel to ourselves along with the very generous woman who worked there for the second half of our visit. This woman answered all of our questions and provided us with stories and information about each of the frescoes. This was a visit I will never forget and I cannot thank Sandra enough for making this reservation. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Sandra! It was definitely a highlight of my trip last summer.
I took this last photo of Padova on our walk back to the train station. I hope to return to Padova someday. It really is a wonderful place to visit.
After returning to Venice by train we ate at a nearby pizzeria (need to go dig up the name/will add here later). I ordered delicious pizza (posted a photo here - 2nd photo down).
After dinner, we took the vaporetto back to our B&B. It was fun but also a challenge trying to take photos at night as the boat moved about.
