Friday, June 10th (cont.):
Continuing on with my day... I jumped back on the vaporetto and headed up the Grand Canal with not set plan in mind, just taking photos along the way.
When I reached the San Stae vaporetto stop, I decided to get off to check out the Oksana Mas exhibit again.
This time I also decided to go inside the San Stae church since it was one of the Chorus Pass churches. It turned out that because there was an exhibit inside the church, they were not charging or checking your Chorus Pass ticket. I did not write down any info on this exhibit so all I can do is show you...
The Santa Croce sestiere is my favorite sestiere (neighborhood) in Venice, partly because I love the Campo San Giacomo dell' Orio. This little canal is right by my favorite place to eat, La Zucca.
I was supposed to meet Sandra soon and didn't have enough time to eat there so I grabbed some food at the Coop (grocery store) and hung out in the campo.
After finishing my lunch, I finally went inside the Chiesa di San Giacomo dell' Orio.
What a beautiful church! I can't believe I have never been inside this church before. The woman checking my Chorus Pass was so kind. We had a little chat and then I walked around.

More on Friday in my next post...

HI Girasoli, your photos are beautiful and brought back some fond memories of cruising down the grand canal. I have to admit that there were times I hopped on not to go anywhere but just for the view. I made good use of my 7 Day pass. I really liked the Giacomo dell' Orio church. Your photos are beautiful.
Thanks so much for sharing. I'm looking forward to your next post. :)
Have a great evening.

Thanks Kathy! I love being on the water, so I could ride that vaporetto all day long. Each time, I seem to find something new along the way.

Wow, stunning photos. So sharp and vibrant, I feel like I'm right there in the scene. Love Campo San Giacomo. Dave and I sat on the bench under the trees waiting out a downpour one afternoon a few years ago...was fun watching everyone else scurrying for cover!
