A view from the window of our bed and breakfast in Lucca. Since I have a fascination with open air markets of all types, this was the perfect view for me. We were only in Lucca for three nights on that trip, and I have been thinking about going back for a longer stay ever since. And next time it will be in an apartment, so that I can shop at all of the wonderful markets.

I love that shot. I know just what you mean about wanting to go back. I was in Lucca for only 2 nights many years ago and have always thought of going back again. What was the name of the B&B?

We had a similar Lucca experience. Our first 'taste' was an afternoon. We're going back for three days in May. I can't wait.

We almost chose Lucca last summer, but the girls chose Florence instead.
I love your photo. Isn't there just something magical and timeless about leaning out those big Italian windows?

The B&B we stayed at was called Al Tuscany and I found it on Venere. It was fairly modest, very centrally located and a tad noisy. We were there during a warm spell in late May. Our room did not have A/C, so we needed the window open at night, hence the noise. On the upside, the proprietor was a sweet guy and very entertaining to chat with in the breakfast room. It was also a very good deal - we paid less than $100/night.
Jerry, you'll find out that three days won't be enough and you'll be like me, planning a week or longer stay.
Anne, put Lucca back on your list for the next trip - you'll love it!
