My Favorite Christmas Characters

I always loved watching the Christmas shows as a child, although we never celebrated (we did have a family dinner but that was because it's my aunt's and grandma's birthday and everyone had the day off from work), but no presents were exchanged (unless it happened to be Hanukkah), and no decorations present.

Still, every year I looked forward to two things, the Sears Wishbook (heck I still got Hanukkah presents), and the barrage of Christmas movies/cartoons and heck, what do you call those claymation type characters? But my favorite were the Miser Brothers from Year Without a Santa Clause, those dancing yahoos always put a smile on my face.

Last night Chris got me a Heat Miser shirt for Hanukkah (I prefer Cold but heck still pretty darn cool!). Of course I wore it to our Christmas Eve celebration (through which I was very tired but really enjoyed having everyone over - company, conversation and laughter are great distractions).

Other faves, the Grinch, and the abominable snow man in Rudolf.

But for those of you not to sure who the Miser brothers are:

And once again, Merry Christmas.

Other Thinks (4)

I've never heard of the Miser Brothers before now.

My favourite Christmas animated short films are How The Grinch Stole Christmas and A Charlie Brown Christmas. No matter how many times I see them I always end up crying. But it's a happy kind of crying, you know?

lisa:

I thought Christmas was all about going to the movies and out for chinese food? Also, Charlie Brown was always my favorite xmas show.

The Miser Brothers seem only vaguely familiar to me. I think I might have only seen it once or twice as a child. Cool videos. I will have to look for this show next year. I love Rudolph and Charlie Brown's Christmas.

I never heard of the Miser Brothers! Catchy tunes. :) I also looked forward to seeing Rudolf and the abominable snowman each year. Fun memories!
