The Old and the New Yankee Stadium
In honor of the home opener in the new stadium, I thought I'd share this pretty cool picture of the two stadiums, for the moment, side-by-side. Not getting there in person until Sunday but today I'm heading up to Rain's to watch the home opener with her, Chris (our other season ticket partner in crime) and Mare, who can't say "no" to a good gathering.
Have a fund day y'all!

What a neat photo! I have been a Yankees fan since I was a little girl (my sister was the Brooklyn Dodgers fan), and I have always wanted to go to Yankee Stadium. Now there are two stadiums to visit - right?

Cool photo (for a Yankee photo). Is the stadium on the right the new stadium? Enjoy your first visit.

Great photo, Kim!
And, BTW, I'm so happy for you that the nasty chemo is over and done! You are my hero, getting through that with your sanity intact and your sense of humour more than active. Good on ya, girlfriend!

Yep, the stadium on the right is the new one.
Nancy, you can still see the old stadium from the outside but by Sept 2010 it will be demolished. The new stadium was built upon a local park, so now they're going to convert the old stadium site to a park with ball field, in same direction as the stadium's. Lucky little league players, will be playing on "Yankee stadium."
Actually, the design looks great - lots of open area/park land (even the parking garage is going to have a soccer field on top of it.

Yay baseball!, but you know we come from the other side - those Brooklyn Dodgers who moved to LA - baseball in St. Louis? We scored AA flights, so we are indeed heading east in August.
Great shot of the new stadium.

Should have kept more of the old stadium, like Gate 2. Then new should have had the lights on the roof like the old stadium. Along withe freez hanging that would have been great. RIP Old Stadium
