Just a word about the pictures

I thought I would add a word or two about the pictures. The header photo was taken by David on our spring '06 trip, when we visited Rachel in Siena and took her with us to the Cinque Terre over Easter weekend. We stayed in Lerici at the Doria Park Hotel; this is Lerici at sunset. We all want to go back there someday.

The other picture is from our trip last summer. This is me in Venice, enjoying a spritz, a drink I had never tasted until then. We were about to crop the picture when I realized that the shadow is actually a reflection of David, who was taking the picture. The empty glass is his. This, our second trip to Venice, was even better than the first, and I give a lot of credit for this to Ciao Venice!, Ruth and Shannon's restaurant guide, which just happens to be in the picture too. Eating well is always part of our adventures.
