Positano

It is a beautiful Sunday morning in Positano, which may be the one of the prettiest places I have ever seen. This morning, at breakfast on the patio of the Hotel California (figures, huh), David and I debated the beauty merits of Lerici vs. Positano with no conclusion.

However, since I am now using this laptop in an internet cafe, no wifi at the hotel, and I have lost somehow all the notes I wrote yesterday, I think I will just post a few pictures and say ciao for now.

Today is going to be a lazy day, tomorrow we take a day trip to Capri. And tonight we have a reservation at Chez Black on the beach, with a wide screen tv, to watch the Italy/Spain quartefinal match. I am trying hard to not shop, but there is not much else to do in Positano - I am content for now window shopping.

Marcia - what adventures you're having. Reading about yout time in Positano makes me wish that I would make it south of Rome sooner or later.

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Marcia:

These are beautiful photos of Positano. I really want to visit there on my next trip to Italy!

Thanks so much for posting and sharing your experiences.

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

tourmama:

Marcia - love your pictures and your posts. Sounds like you are having a great, if somewhat eventful, journey. Your description of dinner at the beach had me salivating!

Continue to enjoy - and thanks for letting us join you.

sandrac:

Positano looks so beautiful, and I'd love to try a lemon slush. Hope you're having a wonderful time!

Marcia, your photos look great. How is your room at the Hotel California? We stayed there way back in '01 and I hope it is as wonderful as it was then. And yes, a lemon slush sound lovely right about now!

Barb Cabot:

Marcia, happy to hear about your adventures and to see the lovely weather you are having. I love seeing all the lemons and remember how good the lemon slush/granitas tasted on a hot day in Positano. A year ago exactly I saw literally mountains of garbage stacked so high that a woman was emptying her garbage out of her second floor window and it didn't have to go very far down to land at the top of the heap. What a sad situation not to mention health hazard. Can't imagine this situation continues.

I'm really enjoying 'traveling' with you. Thanks for taking the time to update your blog. It is great fun reading.
