Oh baby, baby!

Announcing the arrival this morning, at 4:56 am, in Sacramento, California of Sebastian Rex Pinkerton. He came into this world weighing 7 lb. 3oz and measuring 18 and 1/2 inches. Everyone is doing well, just very tired, as his parents made a midnight dash to the hospital and his grandparents drove in the rain for 6 hours. We missed his arrival by a few hours since his mother had a 5 hour labor and delivery. His aunt Rachel is here from Santa Cruz as well, so we are looking forward to a family weekend, just waiting right now for Uncle Matt and Aunt Emily to come home from work to go back to the hospital.

Obviously I will have more to say about this absolutely wonderful addition to our lives, but to be honest, after a night without sleep, I am too tired to even type straight. I cannot thank you all enough for your comments, wishes and all around support. And we do thank our new darling for not arriving during Slow Bowl.

Here's a first look; I did ask his mother for permission to post his image out here on the 'net:

Hi Marcia, congratulations to all! Sebastian Rex is adorable! Thanks for sharing.

sheri:

Congrats on the new arrival. Enjoy!

Congratulations! I was a little worried at first with your previous post since I thought your grandchild was due this summer. Either I mixed you up with someone else or you are expecting two grandchildren. Beautiful photo!

Ok, I think I have figured it out going back and reading the post about your son again. Wedding this summer, not another baby. With 26 blogs to read daily, can you blame my confusion?

Marcia and Dave, congratulations! I can tell this is the beginning of a very very special relationship.

Oh, I love that photo. He is so beautiful! Congratulaions to you all.

Anne:

Congratulations Marcia!! What a gorgeous boy :) And I love his name, Sebastian Rex has such a cool ring to it!
