They will not go quietly,
the cats who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a meow at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them. . . and always will.

Tuxedo was a wonderful cat, and an entertaining companion. He was loved and he will be missed. Thank you all for your well wishes last week.

Maria, I'm very sad to read the news about Tuxedo this morning.
"That one place in our hearts belongs to them. . . and always will."
Beautiful quote . . .
Take care,
Kathy

I've never read that poem before - it's wonderful.
Just seeing the words "Rainbow Bridge" gets me choked up since I've got three dogs waiting for me there.
Tuxedo was a lucky cat to have such a loving family! I'm really sorry for your loss.

My son, Pablo, and I would like to thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. I know that many of you have lost your own fur kids and understand how we feel. Tux was a beautiful kitty and a joy to have around.
