Gondoliers in Venice for Obama!

María, I saw this video recently. I love it!! So glad you posted it! It goes well with Annie's post :)

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Maria, I love it! That was so much fun to watch. I'm going to have to see that again. Thanks so much for posting it. Have a great evening!

I'm at work (with no sound on my computer) so I can't hear what they are saying! Can't wait to check it out when I get home.

A number of Venetians have talked politics to me; they are always relieved to hear that I'm not a Bush supporter. Last year, I saw a wall of graffiti in Venice; most of it was unreadable but clear as could be, I saw the words "George Bush = Gangster." I had to agree.

Oh my gosh, that is too wonderful. I am cracking up. I wasn't expecting "Volare"!

If you see those guys in Venice, give them a big kiss from all of us!

Girasoli, Kathy and Annie,
I love this video so much I've been playing it to everyone that comes to my house.
I think I'm going to buy a few Obama T-shirts and find a group of willing gondoliers and have a Gondola Team Obama. Maybe this time I'll get to ride on a gondola. :-) I'll have to enlist Anne to help me with this little idea.
I'll do my best to try to find the guys on the video.

That would be so cool! Make sure to make a video of it if you do find them!!

Anne:

Haha, hilarious video!! Excellent idea, definitely count me in, Maria!!

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Maria, a Gondola Team Obama serenade down the Grand Canal would be so awesome! Somehow, I knew Anne would be on board!:)

And a video tape would be very cool! That'll be so much fun!

You guys could have a lot of fun with Obama T-shirts and gondoliers in Venice!

I think those guys should do a sequel to the tune of "That's Amore"....

"That's Obama!"

Kathy (Trekcapri):

Hi Maria, I wanted to give you an FYI. Colleen on St posted that she found the "On the Road Again Spain" show posted on her PBS station the first week in October. I checked my station and sure enough I found the Madrid episode airing on 10/5/08 at 6pm. Her station is airing Galicia as well (my station isn't). Hope you can catch a couple of shows before you leave for Venice.

Kim:

That was too funny. Loved it!
