Before searching through my travel albums, I knew I had a few pictures that were good choices for today's theme. Since I'll be arriving in Venice in 13 days, I selected the one that had the view I'm bound to see on October 11. This shot is from my 2002 trip and was taken during approach to the Marco Polo airport.

Sigh. I always get a little choked up when I see the towers for the first time. But I've never taken a photo from the plane! Lovely shot (and your trip is getting closer and closer!).

Love it - I have arrived in Venice by air, but I must have been on the wrong side of the plane because I didn't see this spectacular view!
