A few photos of the exterior of the magnificent cathedral of Notre Dame. We arrived just before the last mass of the day was about to start. Today, January 1st, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates the liturgical feast of the Solemnity of Mary and it is holy day of obligation for Catholics.
It was a cold day, with cloudy skies and temperatures in the low 30's during the day, perhaps the coldest it's been for us since we arrived.
When we exited the cathedral at 7:30 pm the skies were clear and we were awed by the sight of the moon and a beautiful lit cathedral and Christmas tree.
Before heading "home" we stopped at a brasserie for a glass of vin chaud (mulled wine).
