Hakonechloa macra 'Aureola’
On these dark June days, one of the "bright" spots of the garden has been the golden and variegated foliage plants. They seem to glow on the gray days bringing a lot of interesting and light to the garden. I took a photo-walk during a break in the drizzle and here are a few of the plants that caught my eye.

Pleioblastus viridistriatus

Daphne x burkwoodii 'Briggs Moonlight'

Cotinus coggygria 'Golden Spirit'

Cornus sericea ‘Hedgerows Gold’

Dicentra spectabilis 'Gold Heart'

Spectacular photos, Marta! I'm especially taken by the cotinus--I've never seen a golden one before. What color are the blossoms?

The blossoms are the same as on a dark smoke tree - pale, cream and lacy. It is not as dramatic as on the dark variety. It is just starting to bloom.

Striking contrasts in your garden. I could have a full garden of Hakonechloa, I am in search of a dwarf hanoki to coordinate with mine. Love your photos. Your garden seems a work of love.
