Photohunt: Silhouette

Rock Silhouette in Pinnacles National Monument

This week's Photohunt Theme hosted by TNChick is Silhouette. This was actually much more challenging that I thought it would be. I take a lot of shadow pictures but rarely do photos that create silhouettes. It would actually be a great project.

This photo was taken recently at Pinnacles National Monument. It was on the Juniper Canyon Trail and one of the interesting rock formations that I found along the trail. Here is my post on Pinnacles National Monument. Note to regular readers - this is a different Pinnacles from the one we visited in Australia. This is a National Monument in California near the Salinas Valley.

Have a great weekend.

With a silhouette, that rock (formation) MUST have a name, right?! :b

Hi Marta, great phtos for this week's theme. The Silhouette almost looks like a profile of a man looking right. Nice shot. Have a great weekend.

How cool is that! At first glance I thought "Chief Seattle"? Wonder what the parks and rec. name it....

I love it!

Very neat find!

An excellent photo for the theme :-)

Luna - I love that - it *is* Mrs. Doubtfire.

LOL, it really does look like Mrs. Doubtfire. :O Chief Seattle is good too. Great shot for this theme!

Cool. It's like a cartoon character.

interesting looking silhouette. happy weekend Marta.

This is a great shot and perfect for the theme. Very strong and dramatic. Happy weekend.

Yes, I see that old man's face... it reminds me a little of the carvings on Easter Island.. at least in profile.

Mine is here.

So that is where New Hampshire's famous mountain -The Old Man in the Mountain - vanished to! Great choice, m.

Cool profile.

What a great shot! I love it when you find shots like this - further evidence of the randomness of nature and the beauty within it. Have a great weekend.

Excellent. It looks like a person in profile, albeit one with a big nose! Nice take on the theme
