MY HOBBY OF MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY

After our four years of almost total dedication to the restoration project of our 1880s farmhouse, bringing it back to its original splendor in the form of Genius Loci Country Inn, I am trying to pick up again with my hobby of photography. While I photograph a wide array of subjects, I am partial to details and to macro photography.

Today I chose about 20 photographs to use for artistic notecards. It took me back to the "years before" when I so often went out on a photo expedition, trying to capture something particular.

I am often drawn to reflections or "impressionist-like" effects

or unusual details

or non-conventional beauty

So often I find, distracted by the larger view of things, we don't notice the details of such exquisite beauty or interest.

Hola from one European expat to another! I am a friend of Mike's from college and currently making my life in Sevilla, Spain with my Spanish husband. I was just travel-dreaming on the Genius Loci website (we hope to visit your Inn one day soon) and came cross your blog - it's lovely! I also enjoy macro photography.

Anyway, I will be reading along from now on. Hasta pronto!
