I am, and have been for forty years - ever since Mother bought us our master bedroom drapes, bedspread, tapestry and dresser runner, in love with Brozzetti textiles - their traditional designs, documented patterns and colors, quality cotton, linen and silk threads which are so expertly hand-woven into exquisite centerpieces, runners, christening bibs, sachets, pillow slips, tray covers, drapes, tapestries and bedspreads. They are now in their fourth generation of entrepreneurship, proudly carrying forward a priceless tradition - a boast of Umbrian excellence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How would you compare Brozzetti to Pardi? Pardi says they have the only textile mills still operating in Umbria, but I know that Brozzetti still operates a factory in Perugia!
Is there a reason you like one more than the other?

Hello Barbara and Art,
There really is NO comparison: Brozzetti is a 100% by hand production with no computer or electric intervention. The technique, the threads, the generation to generation passed on skills and dedication, the exclusive all by hand procedure makes for UNIQUE, one of a kind, exquisite textiles of the highest possible quality. The difference is clear when you have a Pardi in one hand and a Brozzetti in another and compare using all five senses.
Let's get together again in February or March. In the meantime, ALL the best to you and Art,
Mary

Mary, I'm getting so impatient to get MY Brozzetti textile back from the framers. I thought it was so beautiful, and visiting the atelier where Marta weaves just makes the tapestry so much more meaningful.
As soon as I have it back, I'll be taking photos and writing my own blog post on the topic. I find Marta's work so interesting that I'm anxious to write about it.
Thanks for this post and for introducing me to Brozzetti!

I just read Barbara's post on the difference between Pardi and Brozzetti. I don't know Pardi myself but I can attest to the beauty of the Brozzetti linens myself. My husband and I lived in Perugia for about 8 months and Marta and her beautiful textile mill in an old church (Marta is the great granddaughter of the woman who started the company and the first to be a weaver) where they make linens on ancient looms from antique patterns, was one of our favorite places to visit!
