I am back home after a long stay in the States. It seems like I skipped an entire season - winter. Not that it is over but when February rolls around the wild violets carpet the lawn, tulips, daffodils, crocus and hyacinths all bloom colorfully in the garden, making it seem like spring.
It seems so long ago that Maurizio and I left well- before Thanksgiving on a trip intended to "mark" our 40th wedding anniversary, his 70th birthday and his five-year point in time since his bout with cancer.
We celebrated by flying from Rome to Florida to visit my sister and brother-in-law in Ponte Vedra Beach in their beautiful ocean-front home and then continuing on with them on their private jet to the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean, landing in Tortola and then making the short boat crossing to the gorgeous island of Virgin Gorda where they have a beautiful vacation home on the beach.

The Caribbean! The colors, atmosphere, climate, lush vegetation, music, scenery....
to be continued....

Oh, Mary, I want to ride in that taxi!! Forget the plane. It is good to have you writing again. I was just thinking of how much I missed your updates. Welcome home.

I hope you had a good trip home, Mary -- I can't believe you're already seeing wild flowers blooming!!!!
It looks like you had a wonderful 40th anniversary, your sister's home looks spectacular! And the private jet must have been quite nice (to say the least!)
