FABULOUS NEW BROZZETTI CREATIONS

P4070003.jpg

When Marta is excitedly satisfied with a new piece she has designed and woven, you can be sure it is a winner. Artistically a perfectionist, she doesn't often please herself 100%. Just before Easter Marta came to Genius Loci for a visit: she was exuberant and could hardly wait to show me her newest creation (see above), loomed with new, all-silk colors in an unprecedented combination of design and colors.

Naturally, no photos can do these textile creations justice. They need to be seen and felt in person to glean their finely crafted details, shine and softness - true works of art to be enjoyed for years and years to come in the home. I have had my bedroom drapes, dresser runner and many various center pieces and tray covers for 40 years, washed them numerous times on the delicate cycle of my washing machine...and they still look like new! Few items/objects in my home or at the Inn give me the same degree of pleasure as these absolutely gorgeous Brozzetti textiles. The pleasure is renewed EVERY time my eyes glance at them. How fortunate we are in Umbria to have this prestigious artist/artisan!

sandrac:

Mary, those are all very beautiful. The purple and gold colours in the first runner are gorgeous together. And I hadn't before seen that glorious blue in the bottom pillow. I would love to have something like that.

I hope Marta is doing well and that I'll see her again some time. Her work is so well-done and gives so much pleasure (I'm so proud of my piece!) I will be hard-pressed to not buy more when I'm in Umbria in June.
