In early June Mar had an international conference in Edinburgh. We spent a week together visiting this exceptional city and exploring the Western Highlands one day as well. We flew on a short, direct flight from Rome directly to Edinburgh and then scooted into town on the airport/city center shuttle service which stops at central Waverly Bridge. Our hotel was perfectly located with a breathtaking view over Old Town.

It all looks so lovely and I know it must be heaven to share this time with your daughter. Enjoy each moment Mary.

Hi Mary, I learned of your blog from Sandrac and since I'm heading to Scotland this year she mentioned that you had just visited there recently. Your photos looks wonderful. And the view from your hotel is great. That's also a really nice photo of you and your daughter enjoying high tea.
Thank you so much for posting your photos and sharing your experiences on this trip with us. It looks like you were enjoying yourselves.

Mary, your hotel looks really lovely (and I do enjoy High Tea!) Edinburgh must have been fascinating.
And what a great photo of you and Mar!
I love those long, long days in June. When I lived in Edmonton, Alberta I was surprised to see the same phenomenon -- it wasn't really dark until 11 p.m. and the sun was rising at 4 a.m.
