Today is another GLORIOUS spring day. As I did my garden rounds I felt a certain sadness: this afternoon our garden helper is coming. While the lawns are still beautifully carpeted in wildflowers (which some, blasphemously, call weeds), they must be mowed.
So, armed with my trusty new camera, I couldn't resist some photography... for the last time (??). At first glance the subjects of my macro photography seem the same as just a few earlier...but upon closer observation, a "world of differences" is apparent: deeper colors, more veining, fuller buds, even new wildflowers.

raging, riotous, reaching branches of forsythia, contrasting beautifully with the deep colors of the ivy bacche...stretching in all their majesty to the sky

the ever-changing photinia hedge - a festive feast for the eyes from my kitchen

a lone, miniscule, new wildflower timidly poked its head out to join "the party"

what contrast of colors - gorgeous!!!!!!!

such beauty - such intricate patterns and contrast of colors in humble wildflowers...and compared to just a few days ago, even different insects are busy at work....

a final goodbye to the carpets of wildflowers on one of the lawns...before hearing the lawnmower....

I can't get over how spectacular everything looks -- and it's still March!
