South Tyrol, the spoils of World War I was annexed from Austria. Nevertheless, it has a Special Statue and has NOT lost its Austrian heritage (language, customs and history...and cherished traditions and food. smiling balconies on typical Alpine architecture

soaring Dolomite peaks

stupendous wildflowers

ever-present water: rushing rivers, babbling creeks, powerful waterfalls

magnificent art-filled castles
