We loved our time staying in Lucca - or, to be more precise, staying right outside of Lucca. Our B&B was two blocks outside the city walls, but it was only a 10-minute walk.

We visited the Lucca Duomo:

And also the home of Lucca's favorite son, Puccini:

We walked on the Lucca wall:

Here is a view from the Lucca wall:

We met this pair on the wall, and they posed for us:

One day we took the train to Pisa to see the sights:

Love these photos! I've been to Pisa but not to Lucca - need to add it to my ever-growing list.
I really like that view of the Leaning Tower through the archway...that's a very unique view!

This brings back memories of our day trip to Pisa and Lucca when we spent a month in Tuscany in 2005.
Unfortunately one big memory of Lucca is the traffic ticket that we got.

Beautiful photos, Nancy. I liked Pisa, but never been to Lucca, now I should.

Lovely - Lucca is even nicer if you stay inside the walls - trully magical.

You just reminded me of something that we experienced in Lucca while renting bikes and riding around on the walls. I'll post sometime. Love your photos brought back such fond memories of both cities. Looks like you were blessed with great weather.

Ok, never mind about my question on your previous post. You answered it here (about how far of a walk). I spent 2 days in Lucca during my very first visit to Italy back in 1999 and have been wanting to go back again. I really enjoyed seeing your photos.
