After our water taxi ride in Venice, we took the train to Lake Como. This one was a 2nd class train with 6 seats in each compartment. Very nice at the beginning with only the two of us. That didn't last long, though - all 6 seats filled for most of the trip.
We got off the train in Como - at the southern end of Lake Como and took a taxi to the ferry stop.
It was about a half hour ride to Albergo Lenno. The ferry stop was right next to the hotel.
We are almost across the lake from Bellagio and on the 2nd floor with a lakeview balcony. Of course, it started raining the minute we got off the ferry, but it was still very beautiful.

I remember seeing that hotel when taking a boat ride to Villa Balbianello. Did you like the hotel? Were there many options for dinner? Was the last boat ride of the night early like in Menaggio or later like in Varenna?
I stayed in Menaggio the first time I spent time on Lake Como. I found out after getting there that there really wasn't an option of eating dinner in Varenna or Bellagio due to the ferry schedules. I stayed in Bellagio the following time (but then discovered that there was a later boat to Varenna so I could have stayed there also). I did not spend any time in Lenno but it looked like a lovely little spot.

Gorgeous photos. I’ve only driven by Como once, coming from Switzerland. I hope one day to visit.

Girasoli, we did really like the hotel and its location.
It was so convenient to the ferry stop, and there were a number of casual restaurants within walking distance.
We only went to the other Lake towns during the day and stuck around our hotel at night, so I am not sure about the ferry schedule.
I can check in September because we are going back and staying at Albergo Lenno again!

Thanks for the info. I guess I figured there would not be many places to eat at night figuring Lenno was a tiny town. How exciting that you are going back again this September!
