Milan To-Do List
Our first stop in Italy is Milan. I knew we would probably be jet-lagged when we arrived, so we are spending two nights there before we head to Lake Como.
Having never been to Milan before, we do want to see what the city is all about, but two days is not a lot of time, so this needs to be an organized effort. For that reason, I am booking a half-day tour of the major attractions. Here is the Viator tour I am planning on booking.
The Last Supper - First and foremost (like all first-time visitors to Milan), we want to see The Last Supper painting.

The Last Supper is housed at Santa Maria delle Grazie
.
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the stops on the Milan tour.

Another stop is La Scala theatre and museum.

The last stop on the tour is the Duomo di Milano. I have heard so much about the view from the rooftop, so I really want to do that.

When I was in Milan, I visited the Duomo but did not make it to the roof - can't wait to hear about that! The Last Supper was undergoing restoration so I really want to go back and see that sometime.

We have flown in and out of Milan a few times, but have not seen The Last Supper, for many reasons. perhaps next June. We have been on the roof of the Duomo.

Nancy, be sure to have good, gripping shoes on when you go to the top of the duomo. It is really a unique experience as you wander in and out of the spires and carvings there but parts can be steep. You will be glad you did this.

Nancy a funny thing happened in my italian class the other night. We all had to give short oral reports on our favorite italian cities/regions or do some short comparisons. One of the young students spoke of two cities Milan and Florence. When asked if there was a city she preferred she said "Milan". I asked why.She responded with what sounded like "l'uomo". I responded by saying. Oh there was a "man" you liked there? And she laughed and said, No I said, "Duomo!"
