Still raining today, so breakfast was in the kitchen again. On the menu today was the usual yogurt and muesli, fresh juice drink and freshly baked focaccia PLUS:
French Toast with sauteed apples and plums - A beautiful plate o mixed fruits - Local cheese, prosciutto and tomatoes.
Diana and Micha told us about today's market day in Acqui, so we figured we could drive in the rain at least that far. So off we went.
Wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables plus cheeses and fish. Take a look:
What we didn't expect to see was the huge supermarket right next door with equally beautiful fruits and veggies. Plus so much more in the other departments. It was called Galassia, and Diana says it is the smaller one in the area - another store in the area is three times as big. Here are some photos so you can get an idea.
I found a box of assorted Activia, something I eat every day when I am at home. The assorted flavors included Fig, which we do not get in the US.
So, the dilemma for those in Acqui Terme is WHERE to shop. I would have a problem deciding!

Wow, if I only had grocery stores like that here. Hope you're having a wonderful trip, and hopefully that rain will go away soon.

Would love to have all of these choices at home. I think this was the supermarket Jan (jgk) and I stopped in one day. HUGE cheese section.
