A Winelover's Wanderings

After visiting Palmina and Alma Rosa wineries, we still weren't finished! Our third stop was Avant Tapas and Wine Bar in Buellton.

This state-of-the-art wine bar with dispensers for over 30 wines made right on the premises. Yes, Terravant Wine Company offers winemakers with smaller productions a place to create their wines and a place to store and bottle them. What an interesting place! And just look at the view:

I loved the dispensers, where you could "pour" yourself either a taste size, a half glass, or a full glass. A "credit card" recorded your choices, which ranged in price from .75 to about 3.00 for the taste size.

It was a great way to sample wines that were new to you and decide which you liked the best before you purchased a full glass. Tapas were also available to go with the wine.
