We usually watch 60 Minutes on Sunday evenings. The "big story" last night was the first interview with Conan O'Brien since his departure from the Tonight Show.
It was a good interview, but my favorite 60 Minutes segment last night was about Jose Andres, the chef-owner of numerous U.S. restaurants, including The Bazaar in Los Angeles.
Chef Andres trained under Spanish chef Ferran Adria of famed El Bulli restaurant near Barcelona. Here is an informational site about El Bulli and Ferran Adria.
When we went to Spain in 2004, I tried in vain to get reservations for dinner at El Bulli, but no such luck. Wine Spectator reports that El Bulli will close for two years (2012-2014), so I will probably not ever get the opportunity to go. It would have been an amazing experience. The next best thing, I guess, would be to go to The Bazaar in Los Angleles. After all, Jose Andres learned his craft from Ferran Adria!
If you missed the interview, here it is:
