Past Trips & Those to Come

Since "Wanderings" is part of my blog name, I guess I should get started on the trip portion of my blog. Not that I feel forced to do so because I have come to adore travel!

It wasn't always that way. Bill used to have to force me to go somewhere. I just liked staying in my own cozy little home. Actually, I still do, but I have gotten the travel bug like a lot of my Slow Travel friends.

I was over 60 before I made my first trip to Europe in 2004. We had been on a couple of cruises to Mexico (7 days) and thru the Panama Canal (2 weeks) but never to Europe.

In 2004 we took a Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Rome and spent several days at each end of the cruise. It was a complete eye-opener to me on the thrill of European travel. So, I began to plan another trip - Italy in 2006.

I didn't do trip reports for either of those trips (except emails to family and friends), but I think I would still like to preserve those wonderful times before I forget them completely and to post the many photos we took.

So, hopefully, you won't mind reading about trips into the past. In the right-hand column of my blog page you will see categories, and I will make the posts into each individual trip sub-category. So, you can click on each trip category to get all of the posts for that trip.

We have also booked a 2009 trip back to Italy (of course), so I will begin with the planning process and blog my way thru the Lakes and Piedmont this coming September.

I am looking forward to reliving those past journeys and anticipating those to come.
