A few Slow Travelers met at our apartment for a drink and appetizers at 6 on Monday evening. Here are Sherry (Mimi), and Shelagh (SJ).
Tony (da Roma) and Flaminia entertained us with stories of Rome.
We enjoyed getting acquainted while munching on pecorino with rosemary honey, gorgonzola dolce, and soprasatta with our wine.
We missed Massimo and Biancamaria, as their daughter had a little stomach flu.
Finally, we moved the party to the corner trattoria, Trattoria Moderna. We enjoyed lots of great food. Brad and I shared rigatoni carbonara, then feasted on scampi in brandy, and bistecca con vino bianco e salvia.
During dinner, we found out that ALL of us have May birthdays. It got even weirder when Sherry said, "I was born on my dad's birthday.", and Shelagh and I said in unison, "SO WAS I!!!" We had a lovely evening, and yet again, confirmed what great people Slow Travelers are.

Sorry we weren't there. We missed you too! Delfina was really sick the whole Tuesday as well.

Coincidence of coincidences! That is amazing with the birthdays!
