It is not even 6 AM, and I am up and blogging. I am so excited. This morning we are driving to Paso Robles for the THIRD ANNUAL SLOW BOWL! This is my favorite GTG of the year. It is attended by a great crowd of friends. There are the "regulars" from California, and those who fly from afar: Jerry and Paul from Toronto, Deborah and her hubby from St. Louis, and Roz and Mike from Boston. Marta, Ann and Scott will be joining us from the Seattle area. We visit wineries, eat, laugh, drink wine, eat more, and spend the weekend just hanging out together.
So by 7, the car will be packed, and we'll be on our way for the 4.5 hour drive up Interstate 5. This will be our first road trip in Brad's new car.
Shannon, if by any chance you are reading this, STOP NOW! SPOILER! (I'm counting on the bet that she won't have time to read blogs today!)

I've been baking! I have lemon cookies, two kinds of taralli (red pepper flakes with rosemary and black pepper-parmigiano), and a caramel-toffee cheesecake.

Shannon does a fabulous job of planning, organizing us and coordinating everything for this get-together. What is the perfect hostess gift to bring her?
She may occasionally want to drink something besides wine. This year she can try out a "Traveltini". This glass is perfect for when you just wish you were off on a new adventure. (I know because Brad got one of these from Santa.)

And though we all agree that Shannon is the wine QUEEN, this was the best I could do!

There is wifi in Paso, so stay tuned for updates from the Slow Bowl bloggers!
