We left for a short getaway on Friday, and met Jan and Les for lunch in sunny Pasadena.

From there, we went for a long afternoon walk through Huntington Gardens:

It was a beautiful day (76 degrees) to see the garden, even though January has less blooming than other months. There were lots of camelias.

There was BIG Bamboo:

There are acres of formal gardens, fountains and statuary. This one made me feel like I was in Italy.

Here we are near the rose garden:

The Japanese Garden is serene with gentle sounds of running water.

The Chinese Garden is also beautiful, but the tearoom was closed.

It was a great walk before checking in to our North Hollywood hotel for the reason we came. Tomorrow...photos of our amazing Chef's Table dinner at Firenze Osteria!
