My window at Hotel Potra San Mamolo looks out on the quiet, peaceful courtyard. I recently painted this scene, but it is even better in person!

It is a beautiful Sunday morning with the chirping of a bird and church bells ringing
around the city. I got a great night's sleep and was up at 6:00, showered, and having my coffee al fresco at 7 a.m..

Yes, the staff learned I can drink three pots without floating away!

Then I went for a walk. An hour later, I was back at my favorite cafe in Piazza de' Celestini. I spoke to Brad, and set a time to meet with the owner of my apartment. I am now remembered at the cafe: "Caffe latte in un bicchiere grande".
The i-phone is to read my book, and the other is my Italian cell. Do I look Italian yet?

I am excited about moving in to my apartment this afternoon. The friendly staff will store my bags after I check out, until the owner of my apartment picks me and my luggage up at 5. That means I am "homeless" for a few hours, but I won't have to schlep my stuff over in a taxi! I have a long walk and a nice pranzo planned.
Ciao for now. My next post will be from the wifi in my apartment!

Yay Bologna! We walked by your favorite cafe every day on the way to our apartment; I wish I'd known it was your favorite! I can see they got the Palma Special down to an art. :)

I can think of far worse places to be 'homeless'. It sounds as if you're settling in nicely! Lucky you!

Oh Palma, more gorgeous photos, thank you for sharing!
I love that green refuge of your hotel courtyard. It looks like the perfect place to start your day in beautiful Bologna.
My husband laughed at me this morning. We always wake up early on Sundays for the farmers market. I rolled over in bed, grabbed my iPad and immediately checked your blog. I told him Palma is blogging from Bologna, no newspaper for me until I check your blog!
