Las Vegas and the Perfect Bite

Paris%20Fountain.jpg

Thursday night after work, we left for our annual birthday weekend in Las Vegas. We were checked in at the Paris by 11, and immediately hit the video poker machines. I have written about this before, but to review, you must understand "Palmanomics". I bring $100 a day for gambling. I have save for it, and expect to lose it. If I don't lose it, I am ahead!

1a.m.: I still have my $100 and $75 of the Paris casino's money= Up $175. Time for bed.

Friday: We are in a great room (three free nights from last November's play) with a view across the street to the Bellagio.

Every hour, we could see the spectacular fountain show to music. It is stunning at night.

After coffee, we did some shopping at Nordstrom (new sandals), and visited two restaurant supply stores. All those dishes and kitchen utensils is like putting me in a candy shop! I was well-behaved, and only spent $11.

After a great salad for lunch, and some afternoon play, I have won $125 more. : ) Time for a nap.

Friday night, we decided to have a very small dinner: An appetizer at one of our favorite restaurants in Las Vegas: Bradley Ogden's at Caesar's Palace.

I ordered my FAVORITE appetizer (in the U.S.), the Maytag Blue Cheese Souffle.

Those two tiny mini-muffin tin dreamy bites are PERFECT with grapes, pecans and a little more blue cheese. That and a glass of Italian Pinot Grigio was my dinner.

It is a match made in heaven, and I couldn't have been happier! I savored, I swooned, I cleaned my plate!

Caesars' was not as kind to me on the video poker! I lost $50 of Friday's money. : (

We went back to the Paris and I recouped my losses by putting in $50 and ending with $175 : )

Are you doing the math? I've won $275 plus my original $200 that I haven't lost.

More math and details tomorrow...

Palma, glad to hear your trip was such a success! Happy birthday to you both!

Paris is my favorite place to stay in Las Vegas because it is so centrally located and fairly reasonably priced (for those of us who have to pay). Is the champagne place still open in the corridor between Paris and Bally's?

The mini-souffles look yummy. That's my kind of meal!

Congrats on the wins!

I LOVE your "Vegas Math"! The view from your room was stunning.....I love the fountains too. Glad you & Brad had a wonderful Birthday celebration.
