After a 2 hour nap and a shower, I was back to "normal". At about 5:30, I walked to Piazza Maggiore, hit the ATM, and put minutes on my Italian cell phone. I found 2 purses I want, but didn't buy anything yet.
It was a very bust Saturday evening in the piazza. It is a little weird being here by myself. I knew how much Brad would love this.

It was better after two glasses of wine, and I seem to strike up conversations with everyone I meet. (I think Fabio, my taxi driver, is coming to visit this winter. He is just finishing his 4th year of western medicine, and I told him about the program in San Diego.)
It was a busy piazza with lots of sidewalk entertainment going on.

I survived my first solo dinner at Al 15. There were three young women at the next table (I want to come back with Jerry and Sandi and have what they were sharing!)
First they bring you a basket of fried dough, and another of cheesy, prosciutto bread with your wine and water.

My primi was a wonderful lasagna bianco with fungi e gorgonzola. Yum. Couldn't eat it all.

Then I had pork in a balsamic sauce. Two more glasses of wine, and I am ready for bed. Total check: 20 Euro!

Back to my lovely room at Hotel Porta San Mamolo, and I am down for the count at 10:30. Buona notte!

OMG - I shall have to starve for the next 10 days. I won't be able to eat like that and still get into my clothing. . . either that or I'll need to hike up to San Luca EVERY day . . . and climb a tower or two. *smile*
It looks like a fabulous meal. I can't wait.

Bravo, Palma! I hope that you enjoy your time as a solo traveller. I'm sure you'll be striking up all kinds of interesting conversations.
It will be interesting to hear more about your experiences with the two different types of travel: solo versus group.
