Wednesday was an Italian holiday, "Festa di la Republica". I had my morning coffee, and blogged and did my homework this morning. No lessons for the holiday.
Jerry arrived at 11:30, got settled, and we left on a walk to the Piazza Maggiore. We stopped for gelato at Gelateria Cavour, then walked down Via d'Azeglio to the piazza.

We had wine, and a panino for lunch. I oriented Jerry to the central area, stopping in Eataly and the towers. Then we walked home, and I did my homework, while Jerry took a nap.
At 6:30 we walked to Piazza Santo Stefano for "happy hour" and had a glass of vino before dinner.

We had a great meal at Antica Osteria Romagnola: Jerry had his first taste of the fabulous mortadella.

After the antipasti, we shared pumpkin ravioli.

We both had the cotoletto Bolognese. This was my third cotoletto Bolognese in 12 days, and each were slightly different and delicious!

They brought us tiny cups of peach sorbetto for dessert.

We were home by 11: and ready to sleep off all the vino!

Palma,
You have the best food photos in your blog that I've ever seen.
Can't wait to try some of your fav. restaurants in Bologna this summer.
Glad to see you have Jerry & Paul for company.
Enjoy.

So glad Jerry made it safe and sound. Looks like you two are having a grand time!
Another good happy hour spot is Il Calice, just up the street from Tamburini. They have outdoor seating as well, though sadly no view of Piazza San Stefano.

Hi Palma: I just stumbled upon your blog while doing research for my upcoming trip to Bologna (in fact, I'll be staying in Casa Arienti, too! Glad to hear you like the neighborhood, and will be sure to take along your entry about opening the door). Your blog is fabulous. Your writing is wonderful, and your pics are even better. Thanks so much for the great details. LOVE it!!
