Summer Travel

We are having a wonderful summer! The word "summer" is relative. I tend to think of it as the warm/hot months. Here that would be May through October. I guess I think of November as fall (it gets below 85), December, January and February as winter (occasionally wear closed-toe shoes), and March and April as spring (back to the pool)!

My SUMMER travel usually begins with a May birthday weekend trip to Vegas. That was immediately followed by my Bologna Adventure, and high school reunion in Fresno. Now it is July. We have a weekend get-away to Carmel, then a couple of weekends with friends in the desert.

August, we'll be home except for a "Pinot and Ponies" weekend in San Diego.

September is 2 weeks in the Veneto, where we will spend 5 days in Verona, 5 days in Bassano del Grappa, and a few days wine-tasting on the Prosecco Road. I am very excited to explore some new-to-us places in Italy!

Then we are off to Colorado Springs for Brad's 40th college reunion at the Air Force Academy and the Air Force-Navy game!

In October, we will finally visit Fiona and Steve's second home in Reno for the "Eldorado Great Italian Festival". This is the perfect weekend to visit! There will be a grape stomping contest, spaghetti sauce cook-off, farmer's market, bocce ball tournament, free live music, gourmet Italian buffet, and a children's gelato-eating contest (can BIG kids enter???)!

Rumor has it that we will be eating our way through Vegas for a few days with Jerry and Paul in November.

2011 doesn't slow down.

Haley and Rory's wedding is in Yosemite on January 8!

Slow Bowl in Paso Robles in February.

A week in Venice with Shannon, Kim and their guests on a GrapeHops Tour! Nancy will be my roomate! How fun will THAT be?

Speaking of tours... Palmabella's Italy is taking a group to Bologna! New website and details coming soon!

So much to look forward to. Now off to work...as today I am still in the reality phase of life!

Will you adopt me? I am in Alabama but will pay for my own ticket out to CA!
P.S. My fav restaurant in Las Vegas is Rosemary's. I should fit right into the family.

Barb Cabot:

Palma, I love your style. I always subscribed to the philosphy of not waiting for the invitation to the party to arrive...in life you are the captain of your ship...make that party happen in your life. You do that every step of the way. Life should be THAT party. You go girlfriend!
