My watercolor group met again last week and we painted ASPARAGUS! We simple put a bunch of fresh asparagus, tied with raffia on Maria's counter, and each sketched and painted what we saw. You can see each person's use of color, space, and perception of the asparagus is slightly different.
Who knew there were so many colors in asparagus? I used three shades of green, yellow, crimson, violet, brown and yellow ocher in my painting!
Maria walked around and gave advice and encouraging comments.

Here are the results: Madonna's asparagus:

Gerta's asparagus:

Carrie's asparagus:

and Palma's asparagus:

Palma, this is lovely! Each of us saw that same bunch of asparagus totally and amazingly differently. I love your site and will keep visiting to keep up with you and the group when we arrive in S.C. (End of the month)
Hugs to you--keep cooking and painting! Life is good.
Gerda.

I reeely want to see, but at a 28,000 connection it just never will happen. I'll come back after my promised faster band goes in.
