Bassano del Grappa had some great shops, but I think this was my favorite: A GARLIC store!

Brad worked hard at convincing me it might be a problem to try to get one of these braids into California (although I thought since they were dried, it would be possible), but I really didn't want the scent to garlic and pepperocino on all my clothes, and I did have that matarello to pack!)

The braids weren't the only items to lust over. There were lots of beautiful jars!

The cipolini onions were beautiful!

I bought nothing, but had a great visit with the guy in the shop, and lovely visions of making a jar of those pickled pepperocini some day in the future!

I love little shops with food items like this!
I understand about the garlic-scented clothes, but those braids were certainly tempting.

Humnnn...I have a ton of hot peppers ripening up, think I'm going to look for some recipes to pickle them.
